3.27.2020 Christ's Life-Blood in You
This morning as I was asking Holy Spirit for the Word for today, I heard “Life-Blood.”
So here goes some things I gleaned from the Bible today: The power of the blood of Jesus has provided everything you need to live a life of victory, including Redemption, fellowship, healing, protection and authority over the devil.
As Christians, we know about the blood, sing hymns about the blood, and it is applied in us during Communion. But how many of us truly know how deep its power runs, and all that it has provided for us? How many of us use it & apply it in our lives every day?
From Genesis to Revelation, the words the blood are kept before our eyes—a reminder of its importance & significance to God & to us. The sacrifices of Abel, Noah and Isaac, the Passover lamb, & the giving of the Law all came to pass, but “not without the shedding of the sinless blood of Jesus” there is no redemption. The blood also symbolizes cleansing and purification—the settling of a matter.
God is love. And the greatest expression of His love toward us is the blood of Jesus. That love covers every need man has had or ever will have, & every time we trust & believe in Christ’s blood sacrifice, we experience an outpouring of this love. It is love, through the blood, that has created a barrier between you & all the works of the devil!
Here are some verses about the Blood—there are so many more!
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.
Matthew 26:28 - For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Hebrews 9:12 - By his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Exodus 12:13 - And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where you are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you. (Claim this for protection from the C. virus!)
Revelation 1:5 - And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, & the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.
Revelation 12:11 - And they overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb, by the word of their testimony & they loved not their lives unto the death.
Let’s pray: Holy Lord Jesus, we thank you for dying on the cross—paying the price forever for the sins we have committed & will commit. We are grateful you give us access into life in YOU. We praise you for becoming our LIFES-BLOOD in us. As we take Communion in our homes during this time we spend at home, may we realize what we are taking inside us—that your blood isn’t merely a protective covering for us, but it sustains your very life in us! Now & forever! In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.
