God Knew Us Before We Were Born
Sometimes we feel forgotten, or unknown by a God so great and mighty—but He has known us from before the earth was formed! He has us engraved in the palm of His hand & said we, His children, are the apple of His eye! He loves us dearly & passionately. Yes, God has strong emotions, and isn’t afraid to show them or tell us about them! Three words can best describe our Abba Father—“God IS love—” and He loves each & every one of us more than we can fathom—and He knows each of us intimately.
Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Psalm 139:16 David spoke these words, by divine insight, & they are for us to declare too! “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”
Ephesians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.
Not only that! He calls us by name!
Isaiah 43:1-2 Now, this is what the LORD says, the one who created you, O ______ (put your name in there), and formed you, O _______: Don't be afraid, for I will protect you. I call you by name, you are mine.”
Let us pray: Abba Father, I lift my heart and hands up to you now & receive all the love you have to give me—fill me to overflowing! Thank you for fashioning me, creating me & forming me in my mother’s womb—according to your intricate detail! I am happy to be your Son or Daughter—and cling to you today—to your love, your care, your protection, your guidance, your ways & your will. Grant me the desire & ability to live for you today, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
